Seattle's annual lesbian and gay winter sports festival, Slide for Pride, is six years old this year -- making it one year older than U.S. Adult Nationals. The adult figure skating competition has 25 competitors this year (fewer than in previous years, possibly because Adult Nationals is scheduled for only one week afterward, rather than the usual two). Still, look for the friendliest atmosphere in skating anywhere, as well as the always exciting Ice Theatre Ensemble performance. The head official is Lorna Dyer, former U.S. national dance champion.
