v5.5.640 should be out RSN, and v5.5.650 will follow a week or so
later, which I'm hoping will be public beta-worthy.

I'd particularly like to get a public beta out before February, and
give ourselves about a month for the beta-phase so that we may shoot
for a Feb 29 release date.  Looks like a bit of a leap, but I think
it's doable.
